Des victimes et parents de victimes lors de la manifestation antigouvernementale du 18 novembre dernier, accompagnés de leurs avocats, ont déposé une plainte, ce lundi 23 novembre 2020, au cabinet d’instruction contre l’actuel Directeur général de la Police Nationale d’Haïti, Léon Charles.
Assassinat, tentative d’assassinat, association de malfaiteurs sont, entre autres, les faits reprochés au commandant en chef de la PNH qui, lui, est on ne peut plus fier du comportement affiché par les agents de la PNH lors de ce mouvement populaire.
Me Marc Antoine Maisonneuve, un avocat des plaignants, juge pourtant inacceptable les exactions des policiers qui avaient fait un usage abusif de gaz lacrymogène pour disperser les manifestants.
Rappelant que le droit de manifester est un acquis démocratique inscrit dans la constitution haïtienne de 1987, l’homme de loi indexe le Palais national qui, selon lui, a commandité les agissements des agents de la PNH.

Rappelons qu’à l’appel de l’opposition, plusieurs milliers de personnes ont manifesté à Port-au-Prince, le 18 novembre dernier, en vue de continuer d’exiger le depart anticipé du président de la République, Jovenel Moïse.
