Il y a fort à présumer que ce dernier est une installation artistique clandestine ou encore un hommage à 2001, l’Odyssée de l’espace.
L’emplacement du monolithe n’a pas été révélé, de crainte que des randonneurs ne se retrouvent bloqués ou perdus en tentant de s’y rendre. L’œuvre rappelle le travail de Nate Nettleton ou encore de John McCracken, néanmoins personne n’en a pour l’instant revendiqué la paternité (ou la maternité). Ce qui est sûr, c’est qu’il y a peu de chance que l’objet ait été déposé là par une forme de vie extraterrestre, et que nous pouvons donc rêver sans crainte à sa signification.
