Alors que le président de la République affirme être en négociation avec des structures de l’opposition en vue de la signature d’un accord, ses plus farouches opposants y apportent un démenti formel.
En effet, dans une note en date du 25 octobre 2020, la Direction Politique de l’Opposition Démocratique (DIRPOD) accuse le chef de l’État de vouloir induire en erreur la population par sa « déclaration mensongère ».
« Aucune négociation, autour d’un quelconque accord n’est actuellement en discussion avec la Présidence. Aucun parti membre de la DIRPOD n’a été contacté et n’a pris part à aucune rencontre avec le président de la République… », écrivent les signataires de la note.
Toujours dans ce document, Génard Joseph, Nenel Cassy et Kenol Matthieu rappellent à Jovenel Moïse son obligation de respecter la Constitution sous l’égide de laquelle il a prêté serment. Un rappel effectué en réponse à la volonté affirmée du locataire du Palais national de consulter le peuple haïtien par voie référendaire en vue du changement de la loi-mère.
« La DIRPOD tient à rappeler au Président Moise qu’il a prêté le serment solennel de respecter et de faire respecter la Constitution et que de ce fait il se rend parjure et commet un crime de haute trahison en prétendant vouloir changer la constitution qu’il prend un malin plaisir à violer. Affirmer qu’il entend voir sa nouvelle constitution avant la tenue des élections pour se rétracter ensuite le lendemain, constitue une preuve supplémentaire du peu de confiance que l’on peut accorder à la parole de ce président. La question des modifications à apporter à notre constitution est l’un des points essentiels qui figureront dans l’agenda de la Conférence Nationale », lit-on dans cette note de l’aile dure de l’opposition.
Alors qu’ils ne cessent de claironner que le mandat de Jovenel Moïse arrive à terme le 7 février 2021, les opposants estiment que l’actuel occupant du Palais présidentiel ferait mieux de mettre à profit les 105 jours qui lui reste à passer au pouvoir pour restaurer l’autorité de l’État, ramener la sécurité sur le territoire, mettre un terme au kidnapping, entre autres.
